Centre for Logistics and Freight Transport

Welcome to

The virtual Centre for Logistics and
Freight Transport (CLG)

The objective of the Centre is to strengthen the Danish research on logistics and freight transport. This is achieved through specific research projects and through networking activities within the Centre. A number of the research projects are multi-disciplinary and includes an analysis of the sector perspectives – referred to as the system analysis – to which all research projects will be related.

The scope of the Centre is to obtain an increased knowledge about the various parties within the logistics and freight transport sector and to develop new methods and concepts applicable to the parties. This includes organisational and management concepts as well as methods based on mathematical models in order to support the various parties. These can briefly be characterised as follows:

  • Producers and consumers of goods (transport users).
  • Transporters (operators, forwarders, etc.).
  • Transport infrastructure owner (public authorities, ports, airports, etc.).
  • Public authorities (political means and control).
  • National economics (derivate effects of the transport system and the external influences).

The criteria for success for the Centre are:

  • International visibility obtained through a range of international publications, visits by international top scientists and through international research visits for participants in the Centre.
  • A number of successful master, Ph.d. and post.doc projects.
  • Interest from Danish and foreign authorities, the industry and the transport sector in applying the results obtained by the Centre, and thereby implementation and use of the results obtained by the Centre.
